Born in Guyana, South America, Dustaff's journey into medicine began as a Medical Technologist from the University of Guyana. After moving to the United States, he pursued further education at the College of Staten Island, earning his degree and board certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, before attending the prestigious Harlem Hospital PA Program at City University Medical School NYC. He completed his residency with the Health & Hospital Corporation of NYC and is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Furthering his education, Dustaff earned an MBA and a Doctorate in Organizational Development and Leadership from Grand Canyon University, Arizona, showcasing his commitment to both clinical excellence and organizational efficacy.
Experience
With over 14 years of experience as the Chief Physician Assistant at Woodhull Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, Dustaff demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to patient care. In his role, he not only led PAs in the Emergency Department but also served as the Regional Manager for the New York City Emergency Medical Association, overseeing Physician Assistants in six regional hospital emergency departments. Dustaff's expertise extends beyond emergency medicine. As a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner for New York City Public Hospitals in North Brooklyn, he provided critical care and support to survivors of sexual assault, highlighting his dedication to serving the most vulnerable members of the community. In addition to his clinical roles, Dustaff contributes to the education and development of future healthcare professionals as an adjunct faculty member for the Physician Assistant program at St. Ambrose University. His commitment to teaching reflects his passion for the advancement of medical education and his desire to share his extensive knowledge and experience with the next generation of Physician Assistants. Dustaff also trained students from numerous prestigious programs, including CUNY Harlem PA Program, Touro University PA Program, York College PA Program, Hofstra University PA Program, SUNY Downstate PA Program, and Mount Mercy University, ensuring that his expertise benefits a broad spectrum of aspiring medical professionals.
In 2014, Dustaff brought his wealth of knowledge and experience to Mercy Medical Center Muscatine, where he served as a Physician Assistant. His commitment to patient-centered care is evident in his daily interactions, as he strives to ensure that medical services are accessible and convenient for all members of the community. Dustaff and his wife are proud parents of three sons, and they are deeply involved in their local community. His personal and professional experiences have shaped him into a compassionate and skilled healthcare provider who is dedicated to improving the lives of his patients. After 10 years serving the Muscatine community, Dustaff is dedicated to continuing high-quality, individualized care for his patients.
